Our Story
Established in 2015, the Ho & Fung Charitable Foundation is a charitable foundation with deep roots in Hong Kong’s past and profound hope for its future. The foundation is named after Louis Ho and his wife Judy Fung, two philanthropists who have played a significant role in the city’s finance and education landscapes. Inspired by the life and work of Judy’s father, the late Fung Yiu King, the foundation seeks to carry on a legacy of compassion and generosity and to inspire future generations of Hong Kong.
Fung Yiu King was an entrepreneur who founded Wing Hang Bank, one of Hong Kong’s prominent local Chinese banks. Born in Shunde, China, Mr. Fung founded the bank in 1937, which grew from a small gold and silver exchange to an important cornerstone of trade and finance in Hong Kong. During his life, he was a kind and compassionate philanthropist who cared deeply about helping his hometown and community. He created the Fung Yiu King Charitable Foundation to establish hospitals, health care facilities, and schools in Hong Kong and Guangdong.
